Joe Whiting, Artistic Director and Vocals

Joe Whiting is the Artistic Director for Solstice at the Cathedral. Jumpin’ Joe Whiting fronted “Jukin’ Bone” in the 70’s, toured with Bobby Comstock, playing Madison Square Garden, and Radio City Music Hall. He replaced Ronnie Dio in Elf, toured with Van Halen. He toured for three years with the band, “Savoy Brown,” earning a Grammy nomination. Joe is a member of the Syracuse Music Hall of Fame and has won SAMMYs for best rock vocalist and best rock band. He performs performing his unique brand of “blue-eyed soul music” with the Joe Whiting Band. Joe has done it all, from house parties, concert halls, festivals, to the bar just around the corner and still approaches every performance with the enthusiasm he had as a kid.
