Five to Life

Five to Life, a Syracuse based quintet, return to Solstice at the Cathedral. The group follows a musical path pioneered by Prof. Thomas A. Dorsey, the Dixie Hummingbirds and the Mighty Clouds of Joy and later Take 6, was started in March of 1992. This multi-denominational group is comprised of Founder and second baritone James Robinson, first tenor and President Wesley Hampton, Second tenor Ron Mason, bass Sylvester Wallace and baritone Sam Wynn.

President Wesley Hampton says, “We are not just a sing group but we are a ministry and this is our method of spreading and witnessing the Gospel. The music is a medium through which we do it.” We love to sing A cappella music and we want to keep it alive. The quintet does not limit their appearances to the stage. They also participate in programs at various schools, churches, hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, detention centers and Christian coffeehouses.
