David DeSiro a veteran performer for Solstice at the Cathedral. A graduate of C.W. Baker high school (Baldwinsville, NY) he participated in concert band, jazz band, marching band, choir and musical theatre productions. He was timpanist and principal percussionist of the Syracuse Symphony Youth Orchestra. In addition, he participated in many Onondaga County Music Educators Association All-County festivals, and was a member of the 1986 NYSSMA Conference All-State Jazz Ensemble. He earned a bachelor degree in music education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and a master degree in music performance from the Setnor School of Music at Syracuse University. He has been performing professionally since the late 1980’s and has worked with a vast array of musical groups in a variety of styles. As a member of the Homel-Alaniz Band, he was inducted into the Syracuse Area Music Awards Hall of Fame in 2014. David began his public teaching career in 2000 and has worked for the Syracuse City School District, Rome City School District, Walton Central School District, and currently the Sidney Central School District where he teaches instrumental, vocal and general music.
